The beginning
Sneek Digital started with a client and a plan. No funding, no office, no team — just the work and the determination to build something worth building.
Over seven years it grew into a full-service digital agency with a team of developers, designers, and account managers delivering for clients across web development, digital marketing, and technology strategy.
What we built
The agency model in web development is difficult. Margins are tight, good developers are hard to keep, and clients always want more than the budget allows. Making it work requires discipline about what you take on, how you scope it, and how you deliver it.
We built processes for every part of the operation — how briefs were written, how projects were scoped, how changes were managed, how quality was checked. The result was a business that could deliver consistently across multiple concurrent projects without everything depending on one person.
The human story
One of the things I'm most proud of from Sneek isn't a client project. It's Maximiliano.
Max joined early in the agency's life. He'd been robbed of his savings and was starting from nothing in a new country. I hired him, helped him find housing, and mentored him over five years from junior developer to co-founder. By the time we sold the business, he was running projects independently and had built a career he could be proud of.
Good businesses are made of moments like that.
The exit
After seven years, the business was sold. The process — finding a buyer, negotiating terms, handling the transition — is one of the most useful and underrated experiences in business.
It taught me things about value, about how buyers evaluate technology businesses, and about what really matters when you're building something intended to outlast your own involvement.
That experience directly informs how I advise clients on technology decisions today.
